Now she may not be one of the 3 main ladies but she certainly caught my eye. I think maybe its the swagger or the hot sex on her desk. Who knows? I do feel sorry for her though, I wish Cat would stop messing her about and forget about Frankie. She's got a great girl in her bed and for some reason she keeps coming way to close to blowing it. Last nights episode only expanded my admiration for Sam,I mean did you see that sheriffs outfit, it was hot. And of course it added to the whole good girl locking up the bad guys image she's got going. I also think bonus points should be awarded for the fact that Heather Peace is in fact gay in real life, therefore making any fantasies much more realistic.

Lip Service

Now I know I'm a bit late to start singing the praises of the latest lesbian show but better late than never. We're entering the 4th week of the show and so far I've been quite impressed by the programme. Its one of the few decent shows on British TV. Of course it has its faults like the rather annoying and delusional Ed but other than that it has a lot going for it. There were originally fears that there would be too many similarities between the one and only Shane and Glasgow's Frankie. But I'm pleased to say that while there are some parallels the characters are actually very different. Overall its a great show with all the necessary components that go with drama and lesbians.

Kicking Ass and Taking Names

R.E.D

It took me over a week but I finally managed to get to see the much anticipated RED. It didn't disappoint that's for sure. From the beginning it was cram packed full of drama, violence and even romance. All the while being the kind of film that makes you laugh out loud. This falls into one of my favourite category's that portrays the older generation in a positive if somewhat unusual light. It one of those films that you watch and then spend the next week randomly bursting into fits of giggles as you remember certain parts. Like watching several Legends of the film industry kick some serious ass. Without a doubt one of the best aspects of this film is without a doubts seeing Helen Mirren in charge of a machine gun. Priceless.

Catherine Willows/Marg Helgenberger

I can say with out a doubt Catherine Willows was my first girl crush and still remains one of my ultimate favourites. From the first time I saw her in CSI I knew I was in love. In fact I can remember the exact episode; Unfriendly Skies. She was sat with her feet on a desk telling Grissom she'd basically had enough. She made me smile, her attitude was great and suited her down to the ground. I think that's one of the things which I find so appealing about her, aside form the obvious fact that she's drop dead gorgeous, she's strong and independent. She knows who she is and isn't ashamed of her past. Which lets face it the fact that she's an ex-exotic dancer only make her more appealing. In fact I think a petition should be started which requires her to demonstrate these skill on the show, just an idea. I was thankful to the producers when they came to realise what potential Catherine had and began to put her more upfront with better storyline and, as shallow of me as it is, better outfits. She swapped the suits for skirts and I'm almost certain her tops got tighter, all of which I personally found very satisfactory. When you watch her you know she won't take any crap from anyone, especially when it comes to her family. When it comes to protecting Lindsey she can be down right fierce, which is still hot. That's not to say she doesn't have her vulnerable moments as we've all witnessed, its in these moments that you just want to hug her.

CSI: Las Vegas

CSI is one of the originals for me, and what I mean by that is it was one of the first TV shows that got me hooked. In fact I think it was one of the first three. So its safe to say it has a special place in my heart. When it first arrived on our screen it was a completely new and fresh concept, with an insight into a whole new world. Admittedly that has changed now with forensics been a dominant theme in many shows, however CSI has remained strong and is still considered the original and the best to most people. I was only a small child when the show first started so unfortunately I didn't follow it from its conception, instead I became a DVD junkie, catching up on all that I had missed. But once i started I couldn't stop. There was something about the science involved that fascinated me, I'd always loved crime shows but this was so different. I also quickly came to adore the characters; especially Catherine but I'm saving that for another post. It was so great to see a cast that gels so well, you can see the genuine compassion and friendship these people share. Of course I was gutted when the original team began to thin out, so to speak. First Sara, then Warrick shortly followed by Grissom. I must admit its not the same without the whole gang but its still ticks the right boxes for me. While I may be a fan of all 3 CSI shows Las Vegas is without a doubt my favourite, maybe its because it was here first. I don't know but I think part of it is down to the fact that it seems more realistic in a bizarre way, I meant the Vegas team have no problem diving through dumpsters or sifting through a human stew, their willing to get down and dirty. It is without a doubt the best of the rest and one of my personal favourites.

I Put A Spell On You...

I simply adore Halloween, it's one of my favourite holidays. I can't help but love the atmosphere it creates. With small children running round in their costumes trick or treating and the good old Jack O' Lantern's lining the streets. Its such a fun night full of frolic and laughter. I personally make sure that every year I complete my only tradition of watching one of my childhood favourites; Hocus Pocus. It's one of the best films in my opinion. Considering it stars Bette Midler it's hardly surprising how great it is. So whether you spend the night out partying or stay in with a good film like me, I hope you have a Happy Halloween.

Katherine Mayfair/Dana Delany

Before I begin i think we should all take a minute to admire the photo... right all done? I know she's not one of the original ladies of the lane, but in my opinion she was the best. Within the first hour of her arriving on the lane she had become my new favourite. I like everything about her. from her spunky attitude to her hair... god that hair. Further proof of my red-head addiction. As she became more established she became interwoven in the usual drama. At first I didn't like the direction her character was going when she fell into the grasps of insanity but eventually i came to accepted it. Then the writer redeemed and excelled themselves all in one fell swoop. They introduced Robin, the stripper. When I first heard of Katherine's gayness I struggled to see how they would make it work without it seeming like a cheap stunts rating. Nothing annoys me than when shows play the gay card just because they think it'll attract the "cool" crowd. But I must admit I thought DH managed to do it with their own flair and it worked for me. Of course I'm not that hard to please and I was never really going to disapprove of the pairing, I mean who in their right mind would. Then they have to go and spoil it by sending them of god knows where, with no sign of return. I know that it was down to Dana that she choose too leave but even so couldn't she have stayed for a bit longer. At least i can take comfort in the fact that they left together and the writers didn't just pass it off as a lesbian phase. For that I am thankful.

Desperate Housewives

It seems like an eternity since the ladies of Wisteria Lane last graced our screens but finally their back with a few new additions and of course a whole new set of drama. I know the show borders on cheesy but I think that's one of the things that draws me to it, I mean who doesn't love a bit of fun completely insane drama with no strings attached. Normally I get annoyed by shows that revolve around an unrealistic perfection with beautiful houses and even more beautiful people, but I have made an exception this time, mainly because despite appearances this show is possible as far from perfect as is humanly possible anything and everything that could go wrong for these ladies does with a vengeance. Despite this they always remain composed and their friendships strong. In a way its kind of inspiring if you overlook the insanely dramatic side of it. Of course it was inevitable that the show would be a success it ticks all the right boxes; sex, lies and murder. The seductive hat-rick that we all secretly crave for our TV screens. Gotta say I though don't think it'll be the same without Katherine, although I do have high hopes for the new housewife on the block; Renee. So for the next several weeks I will be having a turbulent love affair with these lovely ladies and I don't think ill be the only one.

A Right, Not A Privilege

After overcoming several obstacles I finally managed to get to a cinema to see the much anticipated Made In Dagenham. I've got to say I certainly was impressed. This film managed to handle every aspect well, resulting in a successful and respectful film. It was great to have a film that had such strong feminist themes without coming across as simply man hating film. It got across an important message while managing to keep a sense of humour. It showed a great moment in the history of women, and conveyed the passion of several strong and admirable women. What's sad is that even now despite all that these women and thousands of others have fought for women are still not considered as equal to men. Were getting there but there still a long way to go. I think its great that we have a film like this to remind us of what has and still needs to be achieved.
